“There are more stories to tell”

Obi-Wan Kenobi has one more episode to post, but for Deborah Chow, that doesn’t mean it’s the end of Jedi history.

Obi Wan Kenobi is almost at the end of Disney+, but according to director Deborah Chow, there are “more stories to tell” and it could lead to a second season of the series. It took a long time to bring Ewan McGregor back into the star wars franchise as a Jedi Master, but with Obi Wan Kenobi being marketed as a limited series with a definite story to tell, it seemed like the return would be short-lived. However, Chow hinted that with a ten-year gap between the end of the series and Star Wars: A New Hope, this may not be the end of Kenobi’s journey. She said RadioTimes.com:

“You know, we always designed this as a limited series. So it’s not kind of an adventure story of the week. It’s a big story with a beginning, a middle and an end. I think so that this story was very designed to be self-contained. I mean there’s of course more stories that you could tell. There’s obviously another 10 years before we get to [Star Wars:] A New Hope and with a character like Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think even just watching him roll across the sand is interesting at times. So who knows? It’s hard to say now, but that wasn’t the intention. Honestly, at this point, the only thing on my mind is taking a vacation. I didn’t. I can’t even conceive it yet. I just need to finish the show to get there first.”

Hayden Christensen’s Return as Darth Vader Was Important to the Series

Regarding Ewan McGregor’s return to the star wars franchise, his return might not have gone so well if Darth Vader hadn’t been the villain of the story. Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Vader and Anakin Skywalker in some flashback sequences has been driving fans crazy. This came as a surprise to the actor, who suffered a lot of criticism for previous films but was welcomed home like a prodigal son. He previously said:

“I got so many nice messages from people, friends, showing their support. And it’s just been a great honor for me to come back to this character and feel the support from the fans. It’s hugely meaningful to me and ultimately that’s why we can come back and do all of this. So yeah, I really appreciate their feelings.”

Since Obi Wan Kenobi’For his debut, Christensen explained that he would like to reprise his role and maybe even have his own show. While there were previously vague plans for a Darth Vader movie, this one, like the original plan for Kenobi, fell by the wayside after the disappointment of Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, it is undeniable that the series of Obi Wan Kenobi stirred something in the fanbase and we all know what happens when that happens. With only one episode of the series to go, it might not be long before we have some news on the future of both actors in the star wars franchise.
