At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022, a police operation scheduled to arrest a suspect for serious violence and gun crime offenses was conducted at an address on Venetian Road, Providenciales.

During this operation, a single bullet from a police firearm was discharged causing serious injury to a suspect. The suspect is in hospital for treatment and is in police custody.

A police officer was also injured and is also receiving treatment in hospital. A non-police firearm was recovered from the scene.

The victims were at home when three masked men, all dressed in black and armed with guns, entered their villa through an unlocked door and demanded money. The culprits fled with a sum of money, jewelry and mobile devices. No shots were fired.

At approximately 9:13 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2022, police control room received a report of an armed robbery along Millennium Highway, Providenciales. It was also reported that shots were fired and one victim was injured. The culprits fled in a stolen vehicle.

Several police units intervened on the scene as well as the emergency medical services. The injured victim was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.

Shortly after, at approximately 9:46 p.m., police control room was notified of another robbery victim at the same location on Millennium Highway, whose vehicle had also been stolen.

Later that night, police units received information and as a result intercepted a vehicle along the downwind road that matched the description of one of the stolen vehicles. The occupants fled and rushed into the bushes. Police units were later informed that a man had been seen running down the downwind highway and they responded to where they apprehended a man about to board a vehicle.

A search was carried out on the man and a bag in his possession. A black handgun was found during the search. The man was arrested. The driver of the vehicle was also arrested. Both men are currently in custody as the investigation continues.

On Sunday, April 17, 2022 at approximately 4:42 p.m., Police Control Room received a report of a robbery in the Lower Bight neighborhood of Providenciales.
