German human resources management platform Personio appoints Koen Stam as head of Benelux

Personio, based in Bayern, Germany, a human resources management and recruitment platform developer for SMEs and startups, announced on Thursday that it has appointed Koen Stam as head of Benelux, effective September 1, 2022, to strengthen and develop Personio’s activities.

Koen Stam will focus on core strategy for Benelux. He will work closely with Lars Boom, now Director of International Sales, who will focus on expanding the footprint for the broader mid-market SMB customer segment.

Koen Stam, Head of Benelux, Personio, says: “I am delighted to join Personio, one of Europe’s fastest growing startups. What impressed me was their clear vision and mission to help HR teams reduce time spent on manual tasks, giving them more space for people and strategy. I also like that people are at the heart of Personio’s DNA. This isn’t just reflected in the product they built, but also in the corporate culture, which I got to experience first-hand during my conversations with Personio. It is therefore a logical choice for me to help SMEs in the Benelux to succeed and grow with the local team.

Koen Stam was previously responsible for the expansion of the local team as Country Manager Netherlands at Teamleader. He has also held senior positions at MessageBird and 24sessions, among others.

He adds: “We want to be closer to our customers and better understand the regional HR challenges that SMEs face. Our local events such as the upcoming HUG on Tour, our HR dinners and our boat tours with clients on the canals of Amsterdam are a great opportunity to do this.

Personio claims that since its launch in Amsterdam in September 2021, the number of SMEs in the Benelux using Personio’s integrated HR platform has doubled.

Stam adds: “Although or precisely because Personio opened its Benelux office in the midst of the corona crisis, the company was able to demonstrate a clear market demand for HR software and personnel process automation. During this period , many customers have opted for our solutions, such as Dopper and SkinVision, now it’s time to build on this success and conquer the market further.

Personio says using technology to streamline administrative tasks gives the HR team more room for strategic thinking. As a result, HR teams can focus more on improving the employee experience, helping people grow and stay with the company longer.

“Virtually every industry is already experiencing massive staff shortages, which are holding back business results and growth. Companies must therefore make every effort to find and retain their talents. The HR team plays a key role here. At the same time, businesses must become more efficient, especially in difficult times. Greater efficiency, in turn, leads to a better employee experience, thereby contributing to talent retention. Automated HR processes are key here. Stam adds.
