Meanwhile, power issues persist for dozens of New York State electric and gas customers. Thousands of people were left without service from Monday to Tuesday due to a major wind and rainstorm and then heavy snowfall yesterday, which compounded the problems and left additional customers without power. As of 6 a.m. on March 10, NYSEG reported on its website that hundreds of customers in Delaware and Tioga counties and a handful in Broome and Chenango counties were without power. Another storm system is unleashing the region for the weekend. The Binghamton National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch from 1 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday.
