Barcelona management disagree over pre-season tour schedule

A new report from Catalan Radio reported that there was a difference of opinion between Barcelona’s sporting management and the coaching staff regarding the potential expansion of the team’s pre-season tour to the United States of America.

On May 19, Barcelona announced the team would play two games, against Inter Miami at DRK PNK Stadium in South Florida and the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey as part of their tour. pre-season.

However, since there is a separate 11-day gap between the two games, management is opening the possibility of placing another game in between, which will be played primarily in Las Vegas.

Although there is still no confirmation on this matter, the Catalan radio explain that an internal debate regarding the number of matches is in effect.

Xavi and his team have no problem playing three matches during this time as they believe it could bring a much-needed change to the landscape.

On the other hand, the team management wants them to play a total of four friendlies in order to add more capital to an already weakened financial situation.

As of today, the team is currently on vacation, so management has until July 4 to decide on the next course of action.

By July 4, the players have been ordered to arrive at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despi to start the pre-season basics before heading to the United States.

The match against Inter Miami will be played on July 20 while the New York Red Bulls will face Barcelona on July 31. If management decides to add more matches, these will mostly be played between the aforementioned dates.
