8 places earn Four Diamond honor

Gas prices are rising. Air transport costs are increasing. For people looking to get away and find the best places to eat or spend the night, costs are rising everywhere.

But Louisville residents looking for a vacation might not need to travel far. Eight hotels and restaurants in the city have just earned the AAA’s Four Diamond designation, a status the organization says it only grants to “refined, elegant establishments with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention”. to give detail.”

Six Louisville hotels and two restaurants earned the accolade, AAA said in a statement Thursday. These businesses are among more than 1,700 hotels and 600 restaurants in North America that have received the title, representing just 4.2% of Diamond Program locations. The distinction is also not permanent – once earned, the company must pass the same inspections the following year to earn it again.

“These hotels and restaurants meet AAA’s strict standards and consistently pass the test of the most exacting AAA inspectors,” Bevi Powell, senior vice president of AAA East Central, said in the statement.
