For those of you who want to tan on a pristine beach, Cala Goloritzè is the perfect place. A boat trip here and you will be greeted by the bizarre limestone formations that rise from the cliffside. Be sure not to miss the breathtaking Monte Caroddi, also known as Aguglia, which is a 148m high needle of rock popular with climbers.
Another natural wonder, Quattrocchi which translates to four eyes in English, offers the best coastal view in Lipari. Stretching south, the great cliffs plunge into the sea. One can even see plumes of smoke rising from the dark heights of nearby Vulcano.
This place is hidden in a cave on top of a mountain at the bottom of Valle di Lanaittu. Exuding a mysterious charm, located in the Nuragic village of Tiscali is one of Sardinia’s must-see archaeological sites. Tiscali is a spectacular sight, with stone foundations mixed amid holm oaks and turpentines. The place has a charm of yesteryear which was inhabited from the 6th century BC and populated until Roman times.
Gola Su Gorropu
Another magical place in Sardinia, Gola Su Gorropu is a spectacular gorge flanked by limestone walls rising up to 500m high. Rich in unique flora and fauna, the region is the perfect place to reconnect with nature.
